Polka

Polka

Origin: Netherlands variety (Induka x Sivetta), in cultivation since 1985, on average late.

Plant: A breed is middle-late. A bush and fruits are similar to Senga Sengana, but it is more enduring. The fruits are large, aligned, of dark red color. It is one of the tastiest breed. Fruit-bearing. Frost-resistant. It is less perceptible to gray mold than Senga Sengana. The fruits are dessert ones and they are suitable for processing and freezing. It’s a leading dessert and suitable for processing breed which is grown in a climate with severe winters (Scandinavia). In Poland it is largely grown instead of Senga Sengana. It is recommended for pro-ecological cultivation.

Fruits: Fruits are hard and middle-sized. The pulp is strongly red, tasty and flavoured. A peduncle is easily separated. It ripens at the same time as Senga Sengana. Unfortunately, the fruits of this breed are rather perceptible to gray mold, but this strawberry is a plant which is sustainable to powdery mildew. P erceptible to verticilliose. Sustainability to frosts and sustainability of its flowers to light frosts are similar to those of Senga Sengana.
